A Sound Of Thunder Full Movie Hd Download

Show Spoiler

a5c7b9f00b When a scientist sent back to the prehistoric era strays off the path he causes a chain of events that alters history in disastrous ways.
2055, Charles Hatton has made a fortune by founding 'Time safari', which offers rich 'big game hunters' short time travels to kill off dinosaurs just before their natural death. When Travis notices the weather and wildlife are not behavingusual, he consults Dr. Rand, the contractually invisible inventor of the supercomputer which controls the time travel. They soon face 'time waves', each worsening the effects in 2055 of evolutionary distortions, lower lifeforms first. They attempt to identify and rectify the past alteration, but each attempt gets harder in their distorted present.
"Time Cop" director Peter Hyams does a good job adapting novelist Ray Bradbury's 1951 short story "A Sound of Thunder" and expanding it into a 110-minute feature film. Virtually everything in the short story has been retained or the spirit of the work has been observed. The scenarists have opened up the storyline considerably to accommodate additional characters. Bradbury's short story didn't contain a female computer that has an answer to everythingwella hero that worked for Time Safari so that he could recreate extinct animals. Presumably, "Sahara" scenarists Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer along with "Tomcats" Gregory Poirier made these contributions.

The flaws are the not-quite-top of the line digital special effects. The cars on the streets of Chicago in 2035 look too good to be realistic and the lack of complications in the traffic patterns betrays its ersatz quality. Mind you, I saw this on DVD and not on the big-screen where it might have made a better impression because it was bigger. Nevertheless, little things like this undermine what should have been a tour-de-force picture. The battle with the fake sea beast in the subway is embarrassingly awful. Better CGI could have saved this scene.

As in the book, a millionaire operates a safari agency that blasts its clients back to the past to dinosaur days where they can hunt T-Rexs like those in "Jurassic Park." However, certain stipulations apply. The hunters—dressed in space suits—must stay on the path generated by the computer and they cannot stop until the safari team leader Travis Ryer (Edward Burns of "Confidence") pulls his own trigger. Actually, the T-Rex is doomed by nature to die and the hunters are piggy-backing on mother nature to exploit the situation. The T-Rex looks menacing enough, but he looks so menacing that you know he is computer generated, almost too perfect.

The second safari in the movie one of the clients accidentally tromps off the path and crushes a butterfly on the sole of his boot. His mistake creates a deadly ripple through time that alters everything. Interestingly, nobody realizes what has happened until long afterward when our heroes try to piece together what they did to change time. "A Sound of Thunder" turns into "The Time Machine" meets "Jurassic Park." Although most of the special effects appear largely substandard, the baboon creatures are superb, almost worth watching the movie for. Obsequious Ben Kingsley plays Charles Hatton who runs Time Safari and he is all about business, cutting corners, and saving costs to the detriment of civilization. Meanwhile, his antagonist is Catherine McCormack who knows more about the flaws in Time Safari than even Ryer. Since our heroes are not allowed to disturb the fabric of time without dire consequences—Chicago turns into a jungle ruled by mutant beasts—they must go back to the past and change what happens. The problem is that find power to operate the computers and the time machine is getting tough.

Director Peter Hyams has done a good job with challenging material and a threadbare budget. "A Sound of Thunder" has some amusing scenes, suspenseful scenes, eerie scenes, and the heroes find that life is no picnic. Again, the baboons are terrific!
"A Sound Of Thunder" the WORST thing you've ever seen? "A Sound of THUD?"

Please. Sometimes it's just easier to tow the line than buck the reviewers, isn't it?

Fun. Well paced. Exciting. A child-like sense of wonder captured on film, and yes, it's OK if an adult enjoys a child-like sense of wonder once in a while.

It's good for ya. Relax.

I found this film a pleasant surprise. No, it isn't brilliant, and that's OK - it's ENTERTAINING. Good old fashioned Hollywood stuff. I actually liked Ed Burns in a film for once. If you liked TIME COP, see this film. The two movies could play on a double bill, with "Thunder" being the sequel.

Relax about the special effects - they aren't all going to be at ILM level. Not everyone can AFFORD ILM. Bitchy audiences. You'll sit through the next 10 summer movie sequels and have your plot and CGI expectations handed to you on a platter, but give you some effects that merely exist in service of the story - SOMEBODY'S HEAD HAS TO ROLL!! I want my fake computer illusions to look better than this!! I paid good money to look at the same CGI crap again!! WHERE'S MY CRAP?!?

The effects SUCKED? Really? What do you KNOW about effects? Do a lot of dinosaur animation in your free time, do you?

What I'm saying is this - did you really expect them to NOT make the movie because they couldn't do every effect better than all films that had come before? Do you know how hard it is just to get a film completed? It would be like Joe Average walking out to his driveway and saying, "Hey, I'm not going to work today if I can't drive there in a BMW, so I'm not going…"

If EVERY production that didn't have enough money to do everything perfect EVERY TIME shut down, there wouldn't be A SINGLE FILM MADE. Ever again. Period.

Me personally? I'd rather be entertained. Hell, I say we get Ray Harryhausen back out of retirement. Bitch about that, CGI addicts…

By the way, NO, the title, "A Sound of Thunder" isn't directly explained in the dialog of the film, you have to actually THINK about it. And if you are even remotely clever, you'll figure it out by at least the time Ed Burns and Catherine McCormack are looking out the window of her apartment, watching the time distortion effect "thunder" toward them…duh.
One redeeming feature of this picture is that it will make great fodder for those make-fun-of-the-movie TV shows.
